In Memoriam

Sadly, at 4.20am on 31st August 2003, our friend and fellow dancer Irene Kiener aka Computer Cowgirl, lost her courageous fight against cancer. She achieved the unthinkable, whilst undergoing chemotherapy treatment, by competing at Worlds in Nashville winning the Female Gold title to add to her Silver Intermediate title of the previous year. She fought a long and hard battle with a determination, dignity and bravery that can only be admired by all who knew her. She was a delight to watch on the dance floor, keeping you spellbound with her performance, and she will be greatly missed by her fellow dancers and friends.

……… a little tribute, small and tender, just to say we will remember

You can shed tears that they are gone

or you can smile because they have lived.

You can close your eyes and pray that they'll come back

or you can open your eyes and see all they've left.

Your heart can be empty because you can't see them

or you can be full of the love you shared.

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday

or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember them and only that they've gone

or you can cherish their memory and let it live on.

You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back

or you can do what they'd want; smile, open your eyes, love and go on
